I was doing 75 on the M74 when it happened. Got a bit of a shock.
I've just been driving everywhere in a higher gear than I would normally (e.g. 30mph in 5th), that seems to keep it quiet. It sounds pretty good when idling though

I don't speed on the motorway, honest

I prefer to do my speeding on country roads, more of a challenge :)

I can only pull away in second at the moment, my clutch is slipping slightly :(
I've only got a 1.4 aswell, not a lot of torque

Livy

what car you got, mines a diesel, so slightly more torque, but its hsit slow, the most ive hit is 95 downhill, on the edinburgh bypass.

mines was handling like a tanker last week, the front lower arm bush was completly shot, allowing the lower arm to move slightly, not very good for going round corners? it didnt like it much

im currentl looking for a 306 1.9 turbo diesel, i had a shot of it and waiting for the guy toget back to me, its pretty quick, and my dads car has the same engine, 406, had a shot fo that too, and its goes no bad too. :D

Escort 1.4 petrol. Got a stonking 72bhp :(
Most I've had was an indicated 120 downhill 2 up.

My brother has a 2.2 TD Primera, he was doing 115 in 5th today, most he's had from it is an indicated 134 in 6th

The fastest car I've been a passenger in lately is my brother's pal's car. It was originally a Pug 205 GTi 1.6, but now it's got a 2 litre Mi16 engine in it. About 190bhp in a car weighing ~800kg makes it pretty quick. 135-140 top and 0-60 in about 6.5-7 secs. He can spin the wheels in 3rd in the dry, spit flames out the back and beat the early (230bhp) subarus.

Also been in a Porsche 928 (my uncle got 130 out of it on a backroad) and an ex-american police car (about 120 or so in 3rd gear (only had 4 gears though).

some no bad motors there, i was about to get a citroen zx 1.9td volcane the other day, till i realised its a category 10. and no way i could afford insurance on that, the 306's with the same engine are only cat5.

It's funny you should mention the 306, a mate of mine is talking about getting one cos the insurance is so cheap. The problem he's got at the moment is that he can't find any low mileage cheap ones for sale, most of the cheap(ish) ones are high mileage
