Thanks for having a look at my thread :)

I wanna make a website for my band and although ive been tinkering with computers for around 6 years ive never tried to make a website. Ive heard you can download a program to do it and was wandering which is the easiest/best one to use?
Any suggestions? (Im using win2kpro with 512k cable)
Regards...
Mike.

If you want a WYSIWYG Editor (What you see is what you get) I would suggest either Macromedia Dreamweaver, or Microsoft Frontpage; If I were you I would recommend Dramweaver, as it is a better program IMHO.

However, you may want to learn the HTML and the basics(instead of using a program to code for you) to start designing a web page. You can find good tutorails on HTML via Google.

FrontPage... how can you give the innocent sheep advice like that? :P

Once you learn HTML, you'll find that WYSIWYG editors actually restrict you. This is when EMACS / Notepad / Joe etc. become your best friend. :)

thanks for the advice! :D
Im gonna have a look at html now see how hard it seems. If it looks like it'll take more than a couple o'days to learn to a usable standard I think ill just use a program. Would be cool though if some one asks me if I know about computers I can say YES! I CODE HTML B)

LOL. I'm just basing my opinion on reputation. I avoid Windows like the plague.
