Ripping With Winamp 5.0

well, im currently ripping a white stripes cd with winamp 5.0

ive selected the setting mp3 encoder v1.1 anything i should worrie about?

im ripping them at 192kb at high setting.

Nothing you should worry about.....but i'd suggest getting dbpoweramp for ripping albums and such. Just a suggestion. ;)

btw, does the winamp 5 have any dreadful strings attached when ripping cds?

i dun wanna have a set of mp3 that can't run on other media or something

I tried ripping with winamp 5 before, and although the quality is good, the ripping process was awfully slow (about 0.8x normal playback speed). So now I just use CDex ;)

Ok you do have the latest version of Winamp 5.02?

I wouldn't bother with ripping using Winamp... use the other suggested tools for this procedure. They've been around a lot longer.

Personally, I use FreeRip (http://www.mgshareware.com/) @ 192kb.

;) Sorry to call you this buddy.But only NOOBs use WinAMP to RIP CDs.I love WinAMP 5.It is my Player.But I have always been against them going in the Ripping and Burning Game.

Like Samurai said.Use other Rippers that have been around a long time.I use dbpoweramp.But there are plenty of others. :)


:P Hopefully soon we will have a Sticky for People on what Rippers are out there. Once we get off our lazy ASS and work on it. :P
