I'm looking to employ people in the US. Do you have a government backed employment agency like the job centre in the UK, where i can advertise jobs, which will be shown throughout the country? or do you just have regional or private employment agencies?

By the way i want to be able to register through the internet.

Thanx ;)

Well, I'm not sure what you mean.

New PCs are used by cashiers and stuff...and i have even seen waiters carry around laptops to take your order! pretty tight! but like i have never seen a place to where you can walk up and use computers that arent urs in a restruant

What i need to know is if PC's are commonly used in restaurants/fast food outlets.

I know some restaurants have them, but is this a common phenomenon?

I think i'll do a search for POS machines on google as well to find out what features they have. :D

This is a strange topic for HardwareWorld.

I think it would be better suited in the new Talk Club.

That's not spam 007.

Anyway......

Yes computers are used in restaurants.
They are used for POS and for order taking (usually a touch screen).
Waiters primarily take your order with pen and pad then input it into an order system in the back which gets fed to the cooks.
This also translates to the patron's bill which is linked to the credit card machine or the computer is the machine.

Weird that you are asking folks on here if you are starting a business in the US.
I hook up the data lines for all types of businesses including restaurants but this is pretty basic stuff that the average restaurant goer knows.

Yep, this isnt spam. Just getting some info from friends :D

I want to find out how the system works in the US. In the UK most restaurants don't have electronic order taking. From my understanding US businesses are generally more computer literate and your reply has confirmed this.

The US is a better place to sell my products/services because of this fact. :D I'm not going to say what they are, otherwise that would be spam

THANKS ;)

what kind of restaurant are you opening in the us? As has been mentioed before, mainly the computers used are those like touch screen for ordering etc..... any other kind of comp would be in the managers office or something... not open for the public though.
