View Full Version : What Are Some Good American Bands?

I was just thinking that a lot of European people have no idea what bands are hot in the USA now.
I received some tracks from Jimmy Eats World and 3 Doors Down the other day, that weren't half bad.
Also, I never heard of Great White before last week.
So what are the most popular bands over there?
(I'm even interested in one hit wonders)

Edit: are the Dixie Chicks any good? Don't know their music, but I like the name. :P

I'm not sure if they call Great White popular anymore. They were big in the 80s.

I think soem of the best bands in America used to be Nirvana, Guns n Roses, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and many others.

But they're all gone now, too bad :(

The Whitestripes kick some ass. It's pretty amazing what can be done with a 2 person band. A guitarist/singer and a drummer.

So does guns and roses, but I'd stay away from there new stuff. 30 years of heroin use has destroyed Axle's talant.

THX guys.
I wasn't exactly looking for G 'n R, Pearl Jam, Bon Jovi, Korn, and stuff.
They're pretty much well known all over the world.
But I will try a few of those more 'obscure' ones. :D

Gotta include Godsmack, Disturbed, Live, and Tantric in the mix just to name a few. I aggree with mostly all posts here, except for Bon Jovi, although a few of his songs are cool. Got to give the man some credit for Livin' On A Prayer.
