i have a pc that has 64 mb of ram it has one slot left on the motherboard and i tried pc 133 memory but it didnt work, i think it needs pc 100. my ? is can i get something besides pc100 memory and put in it on the pc?
pc133 should be compatabile with a pc100 board, as it will just run slower,
cant exactly tell you much if u dont post the board info or anything.

that may be your problem, your board can only support 256mb in total, in 2 banks, so 128mb in each bank, try get yourself a hold of a 128mb pc133 and it should work, or 2x128mb pc133 and get rid of the current 64mb stick.

it should, or infact it will work/
i would upgrade the cpu, and graphics card aswell. nothing major on the g/c end, or cpu, just abit faster, or you may be better buying a new board/cpu/ram and graphics card

It's not worth upgrading a machine that old, get a new computer

too much needs to be upgraded so its more worth while getting a whole new computer, you will then have two...or more if you do have others.

Here in canada is almost cheaper to bye a new computer! Than upgrading ram,! Or mabey talk to a computer store the ones on every corner not the big stores. You could take yours in upgrade the case, mother board, cpu ,memory. They will use your floppy , cd , burner , etc. Its pretty cheap if your funds are low. I think its worth checking out? B) $ 200 dollars you get a crap celron 1.8 gh or a bit more a p4 .200mh with 128 ram
Oh shity you get your old hard drive in the deal

well if you get a new processor (the pentium 4) you will need a new motherboard to support it, and with the new motherboard you will most likely need ddr ram instead of the sdram you are buying, and will need a new case and power supply to fit the new motherboard into the case and give it power. then with all of that power you will want a new video card and probably a new hard drive so your pretty much upgrading everything and it would be more worth it to build a whole new computer or to buy one if you dont want to build one.
