ok heres a tough one for ya out there : ive been using emule for a couple of months now and everything was ok - nice high id good dl speeds

now since yesterday ive been gettin a low id , i cant connect to hardly any servers as they dont like low ids, crappy dl speed as well (ul speeds are ok )

xp firewall is turned off (i just checked) , i tryed turning sygate off but that made no difference at all -low id

i have tryed 3 diff clients -low id
i have no router either ;)

ive even been to some emule forums but i had no luck there either <_<

so any ideas guys ?

What changes have u made to computer prior to slow down (eMule, firewall, network settings, etc.)? Easier to start there rather than justing throwing stuff against the wall.

do you have "safe connect" enabled? (you should)
with it off, you try to connect to more then one server at a time, thus causing a "traffic jam" on your listening port thereby causing low id. (and overwork the servers too)

yes this is enabled , its always set to that , i always save the configuration files so that they are the same when i use a new mod (i tend to change mods from time to time to check new ones out )

Check the server log for any pertinent messages. Once I was getting stuck on the LowID apparently because me IP ended with a '0'

Emule seems to never work for me eather. I just run Overnet. Just inport your dl from Emule to Overnet and use that. Emule disconnects from servers too much. I recomend Overnet. Also try to set your firewall to a random port like 4789 instead of 4662. If your isp is watching you, they won't know what program you are running without a little bit of investigating. Sometimes isp's block certain ports that are most common with file sharing apps. * 4789 is just a random port and was an example. Use any port you like. Also some people will try to attack you by the program you are running if they know you have a port open. I always recomend that you change the default file sharing port of a program to another just to be safe or at least a little safer. Have your firewall block all pings too. I recomend Black Ice.
