i have one of those microsoft optical mouses with a red light. at night when i leave my computer on the red light is shining. is there anyway to temperarly disable the light shining?

unplug it or right click my computer, go to manage, then go to device manager and go to HID-devices then find your mouse, right click it and go to disable.

unplugging it is easier or even better why not just cover it with a towel or something?

is it that bright? i have a logitech opti and sure it's red too, but if i'm not using it it dims itself. :o

so it doesn't shine when he's sleepin...

Yah, just cover it with a towel.

My whole room glows blue at night..but it dont affect me that much lol

Im bout to have to start cleaning my comptuer alot..getting a new cat..its hairs gona be all in it haha

:lol: i leave my speakers and ps2 on all night becuase they glow blue and i like the blue light :)

Why dont you just switch of your PC's power, thus cutting off all motherboard funtions.

Maybe because it's nearly impossible to share and DL files with the PC turned off. :)

My MX500 stays on after the power is off. The back power switch may do something though.

yeah MOST will just dimm themselves when not used for a while, that's what mine does, but if even that is to bright for you then just cover it up! ;)
You might be able to do something w/ scheduled tasks but i doubt it

it flashes? make sure the wire isnt bent in a way that is causing it to move at all or else the light will become brighter, and if it still flashes then just cover it with something.
