The entertainment industry is also targeting P2P networks via lawsuits and "spoofing": posting corrupt or misleading files to discredit P2P network files. A bill proposed by Representative Howard L. Berman (D-California) would legalize spoofing and other P2P network attacks and would shield attackers from liability for resulting network damage

The Bastards! Posting Fake Files To Discredit Kazaa! This Might Scare Ppl Into Not Sharing Foles If They Fear Legal Action
Isnt Ther Ment To Be A Patch For Kazaa To Hide Files Without Having To Stop Sharing?
Might Be Worth Getting It

The record companies should stop worrying about file transfers and start worrying about producing some music that is worth a fuck. This is the reason for the declining record sales. Anyone else notice the cycle in music. For a short period new music is good . It is then followed by a couple of years worth of total shit!! Produce a product that is worth a fuck and sales will grow. lmao dumb fuckers!

I think its you thats missing the point nahan - it is ALL smoke and no fire - lousy scare tactics by people who want to deter people but have actually very little power to do anything. How is an american ruling going to affect me when i live in a different country where american law holds no weight? And also this ruling is only one strand of a long legal process which would have to be carried out before it actually meant anything as it would involve re-writing quite a large bit of law concerning privacy.

surey thers a law stating That if i wanna fork out £2000 on a computer n then pay £25 a month for my connection, i get the right to put WHATEVER i want on it and uset for WHATEVER i wanna (Within Sensible law). If they value ther music and warez that much then they should make sure they are protected suitably.

Nahan, My point was this, how many times a day do you thing a noob comes on this forum with some kind of story like this? Ask around, it happens plenty. I'm not judging your comment, I'm just saying it doesn't mean anything to me. For me its a joke, and I treat it as such. A lot of these stories a printed as scare tactics, and nothing more. As my father always says, "Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see" ;)

just for debating on the subject it will leave open, but indeed as RPerry said we get this kinda post a few times every week.
We know your intention was probably a good one but the people in here have seen them over and over again. B)
That's why WE react like this.
Also i like to add that we all come from different countries with different rulez, laws and regulations according to filesharing and having a copy on your HD.... So it's a bit difficult to debate on these matters. B)

Exactly

Oh and by the way you do have a constitution in England, just not a written one.

I am on your side .This is probably the worlds largest game of hide and seek
we all take the necessary steps to protect ourselves.

But to stand around saying; this will never happen to us ,these are scare tactics, and ive heard this all before dosent mean it wont affect us in some shape or form.
The gov is just using this to break down privacy rules to gain access to our systems and our lives
i dont reside in the usa and the athorities arent going to get me,but to beware of whats going on around me is half the battle.
Its all about addapting they change ill change (hide and seek)

I live in the england, and don't really believe the authorities will do anything to me. I mean think about it. A simple look on my kazaa window shows that there are above 4 million users on at the moment. A court case takes what, two weeks.

4,000,000x14=56,000,000. Therefore it would take about 153,000 years to prosecute everyone on Kazaa. Even if you consider perhaps only 1000th of the are sharing stuff bad enough to get prosecuted over, it would still take over 1000 years to prosecute all of us.

Also, al birkett, you think we have a good football/soccer team?

Well, I don't know about the US, but here in Israel there are many stores with pirated CDs for sale, every school and university uses pirated software, etc. - the reason for that is mainly the unreasonably prices for legal software around here, but the first fact i stated just proved that the govt doesn't give a s*** about copyright laws. And i doubt an Israeli ISP will ever disclose a person's details to the RIAA - and the RIAA can't do s*** to enforce it.
