I don't know what it was... the first ever computer I had access to was at the local weapons research facility.
I never got to actually see it.

The computer club I belonged to in the early '80's had 30 minutes access to the mystery machine once every two weeks.

Club members spent about 2 hours per meeting making up punchcards to printout ascii text pictures and calendars because thats all we were allowed to do.

the first comp i had didnt have windows........ nor dit it cost anything....... it was a present from my grandparents.....

a DOS laptop........ less memory than a floppy (640KB), HDD smaller than your video cards memory (5MB) and an amazing 2 colors!!!! (though we did have diffrent shades of blue)............

the days of having to hit
c:\games\tetris\tetris to start a game..........

but at least it dint crash as often as windows does.......... (though multitasking was kinda impossible)............

LOL AT YOUR POWER SUPPLY!!!
100W... Holy Dog Sh*t that system wouldnt even boot up because of the lack of power supply. Youd need atleast a few 500W Power Supplys dazy chained to each other.. Todays servers have lower stats than that and run of some Massive Watt sizes.
hehe.. i hope i taught ya a lesson or two about power

You must be joking about our power supply. You must be outdated, the new power supplies uses 5x less power since 1980. You must be 9 years outdated. Also, the power supplies by turning on it's "old mode" and have the capability to run 10 of your outdated servers.

I vaguely remember a laptop from the late eighties/early nineties - DOS (can't remember which version , but it didn't have mouse support) , B&W screen , basic text editor , Prince of Persia. I'll see if we still have it in the attic - bet that ol' geezer still works :)

A gift from my mother. Of course the motherboard in that burnt-out during an ice storm, along with a slew of other household electronics. From the insurance settlement (laced with a wee-bit o' exageration), I was able to upgrade to my current set-up. B)
