plus
media player is under windows file protection
you will have to delete all the files which are in c\programfiles\media player
in
C:windows\system32\dllcache
and then in C:windows\system32\
before you can delete the the one in program files

its a microslop conspiracy  media player 9 is a nice player. i use it, but if you leave it on your comp, nothing happens. i also use creative media center, it came with my audigy sound card. also , if your having problems with playback, you consider a codec pack like 2.20 kazaa lite codec pack (if thats what is wrong)

they have an option in the configuration usually to choose if they will be default and for what kind of files.

i have mine set up so that everything automatically plays with media player when i click a file or put in a cd but i use musicmatch for my music usually and nvdvd for my movies.

media player is just quicker to open when im going to just test a movie or see what it is if the name is wrong or something.

Not everything that microsoft puts in your machine is supposed to be there
just like you remove the plastic from the outside of your mattras or the price tag from your teddy bear....

The Delete button is THERE for a reason
when it comes to Tweaking nobody ever mentions the Delete Button
cause there is shit loads of crap you can get rid of
