Help Needed Once Connected

ok ok, i've been to bt for a bit but wanna go back to irc as i liked it
but i needs some help,

when u connect to a server or bot whatever it is and in the chat window it list files that are on offer, how can i get at them? do i copy the ad and paste into main screen? mirc is complex when it gets to this type of stuff, its great if you click a link and just copy and paste from ircspy or packet news, but i feel im missing out on the best speeds because there isnt a good enough guide relating to just using the irc command interface its all geared towards inital setup

can anyone help with just using irc without going through the search engines?

The bot always lists the command to request a packet first, however its most of the time the standard command

/msg BOTName XDCC Send #PACKETNUMBER

get the packetnumber from the anouncement of the bot
