Cd Games Playing Without Cd-rom In Player

I learned that there exist small programs which make it possible to play a game without getting the request to put the cd-rom in the player.
Also I learned that it possible to "borrow" a game serienumber.
I have downloaded the game Praetorians, version 1.02, but somewhere by starting up I don't come further.
Please help me in simple words, I am a beginner. Excuses for my bad English.

There are No-cd cracks/patches (http://www.gamecopyworld.com) that you can use. There is a prog u can use to play w/o the cd, cant remember the name right now. But for cd keys you might want to try [Illegal Link] Or you could ask people around here. ;)
