Hi,

I hope somebody can answer this question for me. When looking at different Nvidia graphic cards some say have "SE" in the title. What does "SE" mean someone told me it means "special edition" but if it is special why are they cheaper then other cards which are exactly the same without "SE".

Could anybody explain the difference on these different versions of the same cards to me?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The SE edition is actually a lower performance card to the inferior regular card for instance compare the GeForce4 Ti 4800 & GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE:

GeForce4 Ti 4800 Vertices per Second: 136 Million
Fill Rate: 4.8 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 1.23 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: 10.4GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB

GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE Vertices per Second: 125 Million
Fill Rate: 4.4 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 1.12 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: 8.8GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB

In my book SE = second edition :D
