do you have the subtitle files for the movie or are you asking to add subtitles to a movie that has none and you don't have the files for??

You would need the subtitle files, unless you have a very patient friend who has some knowledge of video editing type them for you. :)

Jessica, I think this (http://www.divx-digest.com/links/index.php3?category=26) could be a helpful site for you. :)

And this (http://users.skynet.be/fa397903/myprogs/subtitlegrabber/SubtitleGrabber_ang.htm) could be an even more helpful program. :)

Do you have Java Virtual Machine installed ? Get it HERE (http://home.wanadoo.nl/brugje/VM/)

To use it, just download it and then :

1. unzip the file

2. double clic on “subtitle grabber.exe”

READ CAREFULLY

First thing you should see is the program. If it is not so, you have to install a free program called Java Virtual Machine

I downloaded a Thai action flick about a month ago and needed subtitles to know what was going on... I wasn't sure what to do either until I selected the film itself and the subtitles together and pressed enter. Worked perfectly. Simple, I know, but maybe it's worth a shot.

Also, perhaps you need a codec pack, like the Kazaa Codec Pack.

:frusty: That subtitle grabber doesn't work in winex (I don't have a Windows computer), so I can't help you. :(

The only things I can think of are using the latest version (http://users.skynet.be/fa397903/myprogs/subtitlegrabber/subtitle%20grabber%20v0.04.03.zip), installing the Java VM (http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/download/Redirect/247267925/58474793772828467202867260728212080247602902281505685545559268283212938633237228724629474147060223860529290286280346294741470602898605292902865605082360584732-7532/j2re-1_4_1_03-windows-i586-i.exe), or installing codec packs.

Mega Codec Pack 2.24f (http://a1.edskes.com/k/klcodec224f.exe)
SLD Codec Pack 1.53 (http://www.ras.acpik.com.pl/pliki/tools/SLDcodec/SLDcodecpack1.5.3.exe)

If you want to write them onto the movie use virtualdub.

You might need to acquire some subtitle software to convert and/or write them to the movie file. Try Vosub and Srttossa.

If you are playing the movie on your PC put the sub file in the same folder as your movie.

If you are writing to DVD I can't help - sorry!
