The best places probably havn't got a site - I go to some small shed of a place and get it dirt cheap - look in your local paper :)

try making your own ink, then take a surgical syringe and refill an old cartridge

Where do you live?

UK Users might want to check out Computer Fairs (http://www.computerfairs.co.uk/). I've just came back from one today with some really good bargains. The ink I saw was going for £12 where the original for my printer is £26. Everything I've seen is brand new, apart from the latest DVD's of course.

I suppose it's simply that £17.11 for a Lexmark compatible cart. doesn't compare too well with £3.97 for an almost equivalent chipped epson compatible cart.

The problem is that Lexmark actually use HP carts with their own branding. And because HP defend their patent so vigorously what you see as compatible carts are actually refurbished/refilled HP carts. They probably have to pay a royalty to HP even on those.

HP invents.

And then rips you off.

someone mentioned refilling dont, can damage your printer.
Also you're better off getting your carts elseware, £57 > £30 in store.
