Duke University scientists have combined common polio and common viruses to combat brain cancer. The combination killed brain-cancer cells within 4 to 6 hours of contact without damaging healthy cells or causing polio.

More research is underway at the National Cancer Institute.
Clinical trials will start in 2005 (the current test were laboratory studies).

Researchers at the Albert Einstein college in New York City have developed a blood substitute made from hemoglobin.

The fake blood:

moves oxygen more efficiently than real blood

lasts almost 2 years longer

has no type, so anyone can use it.

If you have serious balls, you could heavily invest in a company attempting to bring this too the market. If it works, you will be beyond rich, if it doesn't or someone else beats you, you lose it all.

I do have a friend who has invested in one such company.
