Regular BearShare has only 2 adware/spyware programs -- Save and Save:weather. They even come with their own (hidden) uninstallers -- which after running scans pretty clean according to Ad Aware/SpyBot.

BearShare betas have NO adware/spyware but expire after running 2 weeks. If you don't mind upgrading often, they are the best IMO.

BearShare v4.4.1 still has some glaring problems making it inferior in many ways to Kazaa Lite Ressurrection v2.5.0. The slightly later beta versions are (hopefully :P) slightly better.
