Why do people make it hard to hightlight text and disable right clicking on their web page. It is annoying and makes it hard for me to see the page. (hard highlighting of text to make it easer to read and is just REALLY annoying.) So why do it? I mean it does not really protect your site. I can still get your soucre and still can copy text. So all you web master out there please explain why because it is just beyond me.

Here are some example of what I mean. There are great sites. They just have that one problem. :(

I can highlight text and right-click in both sites with Opera. :D

It doesn't protect the content from theft, but it does make it harder. And if you think about it, there are a lot of noobs out there who don't know about the source...

I've told SharedHolder before to remove those, and look, he goes and encrypts the forum redirection page (http://www.klitetools.com/forums.html) too.

And KrackHead2K, that's because Opera sucks so much it can't handle document.onmousedown handlers. :D

What is the point in having it if someone(s) can exploit it...

Do you guys know how to open pages in a new window in mozilla with a shortcut key. (Like holding shift in Internet Explorer)

hmm, whilst true, i must wonder why anyone would want the source, if they cant find it through the menu, then what would they do with it when they got it?

tis most annoying

Heh, yeah... Protection like that is easily circumvented by:

1) Choosing to view the page source from the menu bar, and...
2) Disabling JavaScript temporarily.

Protection is an all-or-nothing business.

Try breaking this (http://www.s93622254.onlinehome.us/misc/klb-pw), it's not protection per se, but the implementation can be applied to it.
