Thats a bit much dont you think

Kinda like the icon.... And it's truth they should take a look in it before starting questioning all around ;)
But get your point, you can ad some nice words to it. B)

So no jackass starting to say now: :rtfm: please :-"

If You reply with the RTFM icon I take it as You can the answer of the particular question, so why dont write a few lines that might take a couple of minuts?
That I fail to understand....

@Chilly

If You can answer the n00b question why dont just do so? Instead of posting a little icon that dosnt really help much?

Sorry I'm a bit tired....2:31am here

The Great Dude

They have to learn how to use the manual or else they keep repeating the same process.

Thats is what i do, i try to answer as many as i can and be helpful to the guests, members, n00b's etc. :)

And i agree with your point about the logo not helping much, but my point is i find it a bit Abusive to

newcomers and guest's entering or joining the Forum. :(

Yes the little Dudes are funny :P  <_< :( in there Expressions and everyone likes them.

But maybe a nicer one after you have given an answer, as light humour. B)

Because sometimes people just wanna flame and they don't have nearly the talent I do in such matters, and thus it is easier to post that stupid icon.

Really I don't like it either personally, though whatever, isn't my board.

Giving answers to them straight out which can easily be answered in the faq is ok, but they will probably do it again somewhere else.

@BOT: Why not just type a couple lines you say? Well, because it gets pretty damn annoying typing the same thing over and over and over and over and sooner or later you'll just get tired of doing it all together, or your just getting lazy, i.e. me :P . If everything can be answered in the FAQ, then :rtfm:. But if your in a good mood, Read the FAQ :-)

Oh well, I have biology homework...so yea

I don't like the idea of it being thrown out at the beginning of a post, but sometimes there is no other choice. The Icon is fine the way it is, please don't change it.

Yeah, it does get very annoying typing up that same thing over and over when a simple icon or the word FAQ will solve it. ;)

Most people don't even know what RTFM means.
If you throw them that smilie, they won't get it.
I've never used that smilie.
I prefer to give a good answer, or tell them to read the FAQ. :)

rtfm doesn't have to mean the other way, you could say " read the fabulous manual "

#2 it could mean "read this for more" I guess?

Not a big issue, just don't particularly like that icon/graemlin/smilie/smily.

yeah, i can't get it to be transparent though <_<

when i do make tha background clear, it saves to white... don't know what to do... i'd also like to have it better quality. i'm gonna have to play around with it for awhile.

to others: feel free to make a smiley rtfm or something. if you can make a better one, please do so.

The Great Dude

You have to use gif format to make it transparent. Don't make the size to big, try to make the size close to :rtfm:

ok, but now i can't clone stamp the smiley face over the angry face because of different color tables. does anyone know how to copy the color table and add it to another? i tried saving and loading the color tables to the other smileys, but it screwed up the colors.

btw i'm using photoshop 7.

Thats what im trying to say its not very polite and is very rude i think.

Im not asking for it to be changed im saying have another choice but a friendlier version, i can understand if is the same person repeatedly asking the same questions, which could be answered in the FAQ.
Go ahead give them a :rtfm:, but not to n00b's or guest's. ;)

The more people you get to join the Forum, the more popular it will become.

The more Donation's you will recieve.

The more advice on problems, future development, Verifield's, etc. ;)

Maybe a bit extreme but just think about it?

99% of the questions on this board can be answered by reading the tutorials online or using the search button. People are too lazy too look. Don't expect this to change anytime soon. Go ahead, make a manual, then make it a "sticky." Then in two days, when people re-ask the same damn questions, we can link to the manual in every thread. Sounds like fun.--
