gday pals,

well iv been discussing with Kai on msn about which case i should get and we nailed it down to these 2. However some opinions from the BOARD wud be good.

Here they are

Thermaltake Highest Xaser III VM3000 Series Mid Tower (Skull) (http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/vm3000/vm3000a.htm)

This one will cost me $240 NZ (actually only $90 when i sell my current case)

and

Thermaltake Xaser 5 damier Black with window (http://www.pcgear.co.nz/customer/product.php?productid=41759&cat=424&page=1)
This one will cost me $240 as well ($90)

so which one do you guys like.

I dont really like the design of the 2nd one, but if its better than the first then i dont care,... ill take it.... otherwise im going toward the 1st one....

theres also this case but its mainly between the top 2 cases.

Thermaltake Highest Performance XaserIII Case - Lanfire (http://www.thermaltake.com/products/lanfire/vm2000.htm)

i would say the skull one is a bit nice, because it doesn't have a checked pattern on the front - actually, i think they're both ugly

how was it unnecessary? it fits your question perfectly. you asked which one was better, and he said neither. you never said that he had to pick one...

i was hoping for comments like

"get this one because it has... etc.."

"dont get this one because blah blah blah"

but thats cool. feel free to say whatever

my opinion: screw-em all and go here (http://www.mountainmods.com/) and then go look here (http://www.asetek.com/webshopfolder/webshop/visvare.asp?lagerid=250&bodyid=110&bodynummer=1&liste=&side=) for a kickass cooler to fill it with :)

for the case: if not then google "U2-UFO" to find any that do.

same with the vapochill cooler. i was originally planning on promoting those new drivebay watercoolers but then remembered the extra case worth of room inside that beast and sed to myself "Why not a vapochill???"

in fact, why not 3 vapochills? one for the cpu, the other for the northbridge + voltMods, the other for the GPU

see why im promoting the vapochill tonight, kai? :)

i suggest the 1st one. but i would prefer not getting a extremely flashy case, but put good shit inside. i would get a regular chieftek/lianli/wtf/huh (tower with window) and put some wc in it. still ends up around $240, maybe less. but u get good power. u can always mod up a plain looking case.

either the first one or the third one that you posted, i hate the checkered design.

oh and wait for clocker to come on he'll tell you whats good\bad about the xaser case.

That first one has alot of nice features and it looks pretty cool too. All of those prices suck a$$.

My experience with my Thermaltake XaserIII ended badly.

Most of the features that they brag about I found to be useless.
The build quality was poor.
The aluminum is paper thin.
The fan control/temp display doesn't work.

I don't recommend their cases.

how can u say their fan controllers don't work? maybe u just got a bad one.

like i said up there. i'd rather spend $200 on some good hardware, and get a regular case with a window, and customize it ur own way. paint it, make it glow. put lasers and stuff in it. dremel ur own case designs. they all end up costing very little. and u can use the $ u save to buy some good shit to put in the now flashy case

No Abu, it wasn't just me.
On the OC forum there is a 44 page thread called "Modding a Xaser" and almost every one of us who posted had trouble with the Hardcano fan unit.
The problems are due to the fact that each channel of the controller is rated for very low amperage...you hook more than one healthy fan to it and they blow.
