Playing 'protected Content'

I ran across a file that won't play on WMP v.9 unless I download a new DRM security file, which will suposedly send information to Microsoft when I play the file. Is there a way to play these files without succumbing to the DRM scheme?

Don't download ASF / WMA / WMV files.

The only person to do it was Beale Screamer, unfortunatly it only works on DRM v2.
