It might well do... but:

[Lamsey] WHISKY DOESN'T HAVE A FUCKING E IN IT <-- is an entirely valid statement

Whiskey var whisky esp American or Irish varieties. The reason for the lack of an 'e' in Scottish whisky spelling is that by the time their neighbors, English, reach the legal drinking age. Their spelling prowess has only reached six letters.*

Well whisky in Glasgow may not have an E in it, but whisky in Liverpool... :w00t:

Seriously, I believe the word's another victim of regional spelling - Like colour/color and centre/center

My reasoning is simple.

Scottish (Not scotch, that word is just a bad joke) Single Malt is the only true whisky, anything else is just kidding itself on.

Hence, whisky doesn't have an E in it.

At a more literal level "whisky doesn't have an 'e' in it" is undeniably true. There is no 'e' in 'whisky'. Whether there is an 'e' in 'whiskey' is neither here nor there :P

1. It is indeed Scotch Whisky and Irish Whiskey. Just as the versions of Gaelic are different.

2. Scotch as a word is perfectly acceptable for describing whisky, everything else is Scottish.

If it is accepted within the whisky trade it would be churlish of us to debate it. It has been commonly used for many years and will continue to be so, get over it.

3. Single malts are not the only worthwhile whiskies. Royal Salute, for one is a well respected blend. There are many others.

Here is a site which includes a list of single malt whiskies, amongst many other whisky related things, you may be interested.

http://www.scotchwhisky.net/

check the name.

Are you talking to me fuckwit ? because I certainly wasn't talking to you.

Did you notice that my post started with the name

Liam

That meant I was addressing my comments to him, but doing it in public. If you did not appreciate or understand them, fine. But I will post what I want, particularly when I go to the bother of addressing it to a friend.

If you do not understand any of the above just let me know.
