On the contrary, google (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=mozclient&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=mp4+to+mp3) would have been a better suggestion. http://www.chinkii.com/uploads/album/misc/guesswhatsm8.gif

The one and only file I ever downloaded from iTunes was not MP4, it was M4p. So I just used the iTunes software to burn it to a CD-RW, then used Goldwave to rip the audio from that disc and saved it as MP3.

well i use winamp to play or convert .mp4 files with an input plugin (http://www.rarewares.org/files/aac/in_mp4.zip), then you can save them as mp3 with the out_lame.dll plugin or as wav with the out_disk.dll plugin
