Beta Version

Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) provides an enhanced security infrastructure that defends against viruses, worms and hackers, along with increased manageability and control for IT professionals and an improved experience for users. To aid IT professionals in planning and testing for the deployment of Windows XP SP2, Microsoft is making available this preview, based on Release Candidate 1 of the SP2.

Note: This technical preview is unsupported and is intended for testing purposes only. Do not use in production environments.

that security center thing is a load of crap...doesnt detect mcafee OR zonealarm and I cant get it to stop bugging me with balloon pop-ups about not having a firewall or antivirus program. sure you'll probably say that it's because its still in beta, and you are most likely right, just wanted people to see how its coming along :lol:

Imo SP2 is going to be a nightmare. Even after it's officially released. SP2 is going break all sorts of 3rd party apps for sure.

wtf? i thought only special people who signed up for beta's and were specially picked (me :) ) were allowed to download the beta SP2? no fair :(
