View Full Version : If The Sun Was Blocked Out?

Mr. Mulder

If the sun was blocked out and all the trees and plants started to die, how long would we have before all of planet Earth's oxygen would run out?

depends if anyone had had a curry the night before

well, we'd all probably die sooner than that with people rioting, raiding, looting, panicing and killing each other

I suppose it would depend on how heavy a breather you were. :)

Mr. Mulder

After careful consideration, I have decided not to block out the sun.

03-21-2004, 05:54 PM
I would go on a quest to destroy or erase whatever blocked the sun.

As a result I Nightmare will become the new hero of the 21st century and become a milestone in all of history. B)

Algae, but it still needs light anyway.

Why would we freeze if we can produce heat from other sources. Can we not produce enough, at least in the short term until the oxygen runs out.

james_bond_rulez

well, what happens is a complete break down of food chain. first plants die then animals, finally humans die of starvation

that's the least of the problems.... <_<

No it wouldn't, oxygen is not a fuel, as such it does not burn.

After more careful consideration, I have changed my mind and decided to go ahead and block the sun.

i reckon we should just wait a few minutes for the moon to move....

unless of course the sun had actually gone out or been blocked, i think whatever forces involved would have already made plans for us (virtualboy perhaps), unless of course we'd already burnt to death somehow, :D

Canti
03-22-2004, 04:47 PM
Im assuming that you guys are referring to the fact that we almost experienced Death by big rock last Friday...

And that the sun being blocked out would be because of particulate matter in the atmosphere similar to that major oops that wiped out the dinos however many million years ago...

Ya we could make fire.. but it seems like everyone is thinking "winter cold" not "ice age cold" maybe we could hang in for a little while, but I don't think we would have enough time to get our shit together to survive something like that.

But hey.. It's more important that we draw little lines in the sand, and kill each other because we think differently.... With all that important stuff going on who has time to ensure the survival of our race?

Certainly not me...
