u want to connect to do wat? if u just want tv out, any vd card still selling today should have it. if u want to record tv programs and stuff, basically tivo on computer, get a radeon all in wonder card. those are graphx card and tv capture card in 1. or u can just buy a tv capture card

whats ur video card? if it's somewhat new, it should have a tv out port, either svideo or rca. if not, u can always get one. not very expensive

look on the back of the PC if you have TV there will probably be a small round black connector near where the vga connector (where the screen monitor plugs in)

If it is onboard you probably wont have TV Out

What you would be looking for on the back of your case would be a connector like the black circle in this picture:

If you don't have such a thing then consider buying a graphics card with one.

i like to add that now you can buy a remote for rca connectors so you don't even have to buy and run wires thru the house and hid them.

you simply connect the pc to one base and therer is another base you put next to tv and connect to.

done

Philips Video Sender (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1751&productId=94740&Trail=C$cip=12724>C$Brand=Philips>C$cip=12725&categoryId=12725)

That's the one I use and it works very well. You might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.

thats a video sender, i can i assume that i would need a graghics card for my pc, then plug the video sender into my pc and the other into my tv, is that how this works??

Skillian
03-22-2004, 08:37 PM
Yep, that's how it works. You can also plug DVD player, satellite box, whatever into it to send that signal to another TV.

I also use it just for the audio, to hear my mp3s on the stereo downstairs.

Do you only need an S-Video cable to watch Pc on Tv if your card has an S-Video slot (obviously)? I mean do you need any other cables for sound etc.?

Skillian
03-22-2004, 09:30 PM
Yes, you need another cable for sound.

A scart cable can carry sound though, so if you use that you only need one long cable, but you will sacrifice some picture quality.

So your saying that as well as S-Video you need a wire that plugs into your headphone socket on your comp.?

yes u do, or if ur not using one of those scart things and are going to plug directly into a tv you can use this:

http://filesharingtalk.com/sigs/adaptorthingy.jpg

the black end is 3.5mm jack(headphone jack) and the other two ends are rca plugs. you plug the 3.5mm into your soundcard's output and the red and white go into your tv's sound input. and the svideo cable is used for video, one end into tv, other into vid card.
