what is your PSU rated for? (how many watts) and also, i dont think scripts have anything to do with power requirements.

can you be more specific on the error message you got. and you wont get an error message if you dont have the right amount of power, so im thinkin you just had a script error on a webpage that was messed up.

Running that system you should definatly have more power, not sure if that was the message you got but either way i'd get a bigger psu!
and leaving your comp on for 2 days doesn't hurt it, it is actually healthier to leave it on then to turn it off at night ;)

I told you not long ago that 250 Watts wasn't enough for an Athlon XP 2800+ system and all the other components you have.

i think you visted a webpage with errors on it, like i said before..... :frusty:
you may not have an adequate PSU, but that (i believe) has nothing to do with the error you are getting.

get with a case if u need a new case.

get atleast 400watts.

dont get a cheap one, usually they dont last too long. get a medium priced one.

in general, the PSU's that come with cases are not real good. if you spend between 50-60 bucks on a 300 watt or better, it should be fine.

But check to be sure that the new power supply can fit into your case. I have seen some of those HP computers that don't use standard formats.

And before you buy a new case, check to be sure the HP motherboard will fit into a standard ATX case.

download a program called Aida32 here (http://www.aida32.hu/aida32-download.php), and see what kind of motherboard you have. chances are, your board will fit in any aftermarket case you buy. all mobos are made to a standard, like atx, baby atx, micro atx, and server. and the new cases have the mounts for all of them. the aida program will tell you all kinds of shit about your board that may be of use in the future

even if your board came from,,,,,say gateway....they get their boards from intel mostly. so just because it dont say who made it, chances are it was made by a big name company and sold as OEM to whoever made your comp.

yeah but sometimes they redesign the board so that the i\o panel at the back is in a wierd congifuration, or the holes to hold on the board might be in different places than most boards.

and example of this is dell...but i think HP uses normal atx boards.
