xp-home, sp1
klite codec 2.24
i have no problem watching a movie while it is in my hdd, but after i burnt it in the cd, it won't play anymore :o .
if i copy the movie from the cd to my hdd, it plays fine again <_<
just this particular movie, other movie plays fine either in the hdd or cd
another thing i notice was that other movie that played fine from the cd using older codec played fine, now that i have the latest codec installled, the movie won't play anymore.

i just found something interesting
burn the movie with srt file (subtitle) > don't work
so i renamed the srt to sub and burn the same movie with the new sub file and i'm able to watch it from the disc
is there something in the latest k-lite codec that doesn't like the srt file
i believe i read a post somewhere here who had the same problem with srt file being burnt w/avi file

That would probably be DirectVobSub (vsfilter.dll).

That filter probably causes your problem.
You can disable it this way:
Start > Run > regsvr32 /u vsfilter.dll
Then see if you can play the file from cd properly. Players like MPC and BSplayer have subtitle support build-in, so they don't really need DirectVobSub.
