Hi guys, Have this laptop Acer Aspire 1356LMi a when i got it at xmas I formatted the whole hard drive in it as I didnt like windows xp home and all the pre-installed software on it. So I formatted it and installed windows xp professional and all the software I wanted. I also installed all the drivers that came in the installation cd's. The only problem is that in the General Tab of system properties it recognises my computer as

Mobile AMD Athlon™ XP 2800+,
796 MHz, Just wonderin why it recognises my CPU speed as 796Mhz
448MB of RAM (64MB Integrated Graphics Crap I Know)

Have installed the latest driver for the processor and still this.

I am just wonderin whether my processor is running above 796Mhz, it seems to be. I would like the system properties to display the true cpu speed. It encodes DVDs pretty quick and seems quite quick. R there any speed tests I can do and how can I fix this.

Many Thanks

Leon

it is actually running at 796mhz, the cpu can change between about 3 different speeds to save power, try running a high cpu usage program and the speed will be different. :D
