I am open to opinions from different nations but really I see only two teams in this tournament... England and france , as an england fan I am of the opinion that we can win this tournament and the only team standing in our way is France , and because they are hosting the tournament portugal aswell . I hav this opinion mainly because of our performance in Japan , we did well in Japan , only needing to beat brazil I believe to win the tournament ,this we did not do obviously . but admitted by the coach (sven goran errikson) we did hav a young , inexperienced team in Japan and even he didnt expect us to get that far in the tournament and I believe that by 2004 our team will be more experienced and will be able to beat the best teams in europe , but as I said at the start I am open to all opinions !!!! :)

Japan is in no way a measure to compare teams.
That championship was a disgrace!!!!
I've never seen so many f*ck ups in my life.
I heard several of those referees will never whistle on a pro football match again, and with good reason.
I'm not saying Belgium would have made it to the finals, but the referees made damn good sure of that.
Same goes for Spain btw. Italy too.
The only good thing about Japan, was that Holland wasn't there. :D
<ducking for cover>

PS, don't think I'm a football fan now. In fact, I hate it! Bad for business. Everybody stays home on important match nights.. :(

Since the German team is at best mediocre at the moment, they are bound to stop an (probably better) English team in the customary penalty shootout and stumble on to win the cup.
Anything else would be a big surprise for me, unless it's time for some underdogs again - the Czech team certainly has potential.

Try putting a TV screen in your bar Ron. You'll have plenty of thirsty football fans spending their money. :D

Anyway, here are my candidates for the champion:

Portugal (host)
Spain (almost host)
Slovenia/Ireland :P (well they are my favorite teams)

But don't mind my opinion, it's biased. I come from Slovenia and I love Guinness, can't help myself. :D

Errr, that would mean the attention would be drawn away from the girls tilen.
I don't think they'd appreciate that.
Besides, the only balls they care about, aren't the football kind. ;)

err, England winning? i don't think they'll qualify, the team gets younger and younger all the time and Svennis isn't helping dropping the babies in the deep end before they can doggie paddle.

especially Roger Wooney, i think he might have taken a confidence hit from that friendly

Seaman is on form though :)

The real question is - how many times will we (in the UK) have to hear the phrase "shades of 1966" or one of the similar ones.

Just to be non biased I think Wayne Rooney will be a total star in the competition, he is an amazing player. Totally destroyed Turkey the other night. Even though they were up to their usual filthy tactics.

Lucky he's being looked after at club level by a Scottish Celtic Supporter and at International level by a Swede.

What are you talking about, WE. You aren´t Turkish.

Your last post was just designed to cause controversy, like most of the other ones. Why won´t you just act your age. The fact that the Turkish fans and players are threatening the lifes of the English is not a source of humour.

They have murdered English supporters in the past, so there´s every reason to think they can do it again. You aren´t funny.

Turkey should be banned from all international competition, club and country, until they can get those animals under control.

Do you see the Saltire in my sig. The Tartan Army is famous for it's friendliness throughout the world.

All of my Grandparents were born and raised in Ireland, so that would be my other Team. Again famous for friendliness.

Which set of Turkish fans was it that murdered the 2 Leeds supporters. Was it Galatasary I can't remember. What is it they say, welcome to hell.

No your not Turkish, your a sad middle aged American. Who gets a cheap thrill out of this. You obviously think it's in some way clever using different IP's so that the mods don't see the different characters you use here.
