Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say something. Nowadays with postcount enabled in the lounge, so many people have been going there just to bable on to get 5 stars, in fact many people that I see (excluding big boab and the like) have more posts in the lounge than anywhere else, and not to mention that the lounge has 200,000+ replys. That is enough replies to give 200 members 5 stars. so my idea is to become a sr. member you must have the following criterea:

1) Your main post % cannot be in the lounge. Many people go there just to gian postcount (I do know that some people truly like it there, and so after very careful inspection they can be deemed sr.Member)

2) you should be helpful in all sections of the board, and make sure that noobies don't break the rules.

3) you should show respect to all members and do not consider yourself higher than someone else just because of your postcount. (Remember: quality is better than quantity)

After you have gotten 1,000+ posts, you will be verified by a moderator who then decides if you should be promoted to sr.Member status. When in sr.Member status, those people who were carefully reviewed and deemed "helpful to the board" will have the following abilities:

1)be able to make polls.

2) may close a topic deemed as "against the rules" of that forum

3) Will have 5 stars and be demmed a sr.Member

4) May be able to pin inportant topics in one section only, depending on what section that you choose to look after (the place where you post the most)

5) Please post what else you think (or is this enough?) that sr. Members should have, (or not have)

No what would be a helluva lot simpler would be to get rid of post counts, let the mods do their job (which they do well) and stop dissing the lounge.

How the feck do you determine what is helpful to the board or not, remember this point before post counts counted in the lounge people spammed the other world just to get their stars. Are they truly senior member?

I judge my fellow members on their posts, always have done always will do. People who had five stars when I arrived here have had to prove themselves to me, and this is how it should be.

This is soooooo old now.

Ban teh post count.

Why are so many people worried about post counts? It's just a f*cking number!

Don't you have more important things to worry about? Like homework?

Sr.Member status would be given out to member who are deemed "helpful". People in the lounge can be deemed helpful too, If they show it where it counts. Becoming sr. should be a privelige not a right, it is too easy to get 1,000 posts, but it is not so easy to make most of them count helpfully.

btw, I was juged once because "I have too little posts in a year" Why should I have 2,000 posts if their all one-worders or they make no sense?

postcount doesnt matter, but if you are helpful, then you should be deemed something worthwhile.

If you come around longer here, you'll know who "the seniors" are and who aren't.
There are plenty of people that have posted most of their posts in the lounge that deserves "seniority" in my eyes..

Excluding people that are regulars there and do good. I consider bigboab the leader of the lounge, and some other poeple there deserve seniority too. In general there are spammers there, but not everyone there is a spammer.

Well... I quote from the link I just posted...

The total file size for all images contained in a signature may not excede 100,000 bytes. Signatures that do not comply may be removed or edited by a moderator or administator.

You've missed my point here bulio.

The senior member status doesn't count for much anymore, I think we can both agree. That means we have to find a better way to determine who is a "senior" member.

What better way than by using our own judgement? I know who's posts I pay attention to with regards to certain things and who is an idiot. When I look to see who has posted in a thread the FIRST thing I look at is their name, that is my indicator to what quality of poster they are.

And there are some damn fine guys and gals on this board.

Why attack the lounge so?

You don't post there as much as some and so I think you're really an outsider looking in. It's easy to criticize that way, but what we do as a group entertains and amuses us. Just like other world's discussions are entertaining for themselves.

Yup, get rid of all titles. Like I said let's make our own decisions on who is a "good" poster. After all it is very subjective, no-one is going to agree with your own views on this.

maybe we can make 10.000 stars... so we can count the stars to see how many someone has post  that's accurate...

no really, your right in that. Also you can set limits when someone reaches the next star. Reason we took that away, was because some people started star-chasing. One big race to the five stars just so people thought they were full members. So it was taken out, the system we have now is just to show you are a lurker a participator or a big participator... something like that.

I remember back when this forum only had a few 5 star members (FC being the most memorable). A lot of people could'nt give a crap back then and not a lot has changed since.
I've got an idea. Remove the stars completely and replace them with turds. A new member starts of with 5 shits and they decrease the more they post.

How about "Senior Nannies". These are the people who tirelessly point out minor typos and punctuation and feel compelled to miss the forest for the trees.

These esteemed members would be given a red marker and wooden ruler (for knuckle rapping) and would be allowed to edit any post so that the forum can look tiptop, just in case someone happens to drop by.

Sometimes the forests are only that in the minds of the person who planted the trees. There is substantially less wood there than they think.

I think I have come up with an idea that might help. Why dont we have a board that is administered by a person who keeps changing his name. The board should be split up into different Worlds. Moderators should be appointed to look after these Worlds. Another couple of Moderators should be appointed to oversee the other Moderators. NO! NO! Sorry, forget it. This would never catch on. :(

I thought we did have area mods until they all went global, also background mods would help too.
