Hi everyone,

I have noticed that many people are new to Linux here and so I wanted to start an official Linux support thread to group all problems/questions here. When posting here please supply the following info so that we can tell you what to do quickly and efficiently.

1) What copy of Linux are you running? (ie:gentoo, mandrake etc)

2) Is it an Installing question/problem, Uninstalling question/problem, Hardware problem, or a General question?

3)Are you using gnome or Kde?

4) What is your kernel version (optinal, if you know)

5) Please supply a good description of what the problem or question is.

Thanks,

bulio and the Linux team

What kind of modem?

It should have been hotplugged or autoconfigured when you booted slax.

If it's a winmodem (most likely internal), then you're fucked out of luck.
