Ok, I surfed about a dozen websites, phoned my embassy and got about 100 folders about the freakin subject and I'm still not sure what to do :'(

Does any of you know if I need to register somewhere before I can start to work? Do I need any special documents and how the fuck do I make sure they don't kick me out after a certain amount of time??? :(

All this info is so confusing and no one seems able to give me a clear answer <_<

Go to Croydon to the Immigration HQ and get yourself a house, car, mobile phone and shopping vouchers ;)

What are you trying to do exactly? Just get a work visa?

The immigration process is a pain.

It all depends what passport you have
and which country your going to

Im not sure if everything is totally "open" in Europe" if your European
but itrs about the Taxes and who you pay your taxes to

you need to register to get your Tax Paper- so your "future2 bosses pays the taxes automatically to it. Hence i guess yes you have to register-atleast i have to in Scandinavia (every fkn year  )

In scandinavia
Funny thing is that there is a Massive Divide between the Registration office and the tax office-
Go to registration\immigration office (aliens office as its called here) - get reg papers - they theylll give you - a Identity Number

With the Identity number you can open bank account and and register for tax papers
then you give to employers and get legally paid.
(funny part is - even after you have not registered for a yr or two-you still get your annual tax papers)

If your from the USA and going to Brazil - Smile into the Camera ;)

Ok

I am a Belgian citizen, therefore a EU citizen. In the folder it says I don't need a work permit to work here because I am an EU citizen. I just want to know what I need to do to make my stay permanent. Or where I go to get all the information I need. Can I just go to the employments office and register there?

Just go to the local dole office Skweeky, they'll sort you out. As an EU citizen you can stay and work for the rest of your life if you want. ;)

i need to find out the maxiumu time i can saty in the us without a visa, i have heard 90 days. if i need a green card to work there chances are i will only stay for the 90 days. but then i doubt i could afford to not work for those 90 days. i really need to do my research thanks bj22.

Update.

Apparently I have to do the following:

- Register with an employment office. I can do that without any special document.
- Register with Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board. The electoral stuff
- Get 3 documents that prove I live here and send them to my embassy together with my Belgian identity card and the form Model 8 I got when leaving Belgium. This will make I live officially in the UK
- Get a document E111 and send it to the embassy so they can validate it. Need that to get medical care here
- If I lived alone I would have to register for Council Tax, but it isn't necessary now as Marc is already paying Tax for this place.

Quite simple once you find out <_<
