I Messed Up - Autoruns

I d\l this program called autoruns that lets u delete all the programs that u dont need that start up automaticly. i deleted something by accident and now whenever i connect 2 the internet i dont have that little icon with the 2 computers and ya i tried going 2 properties and unchecking nad checking show the icon. any1 know how to fix this?

Was the program XCleaner?

Run -> msconfig -> startup , then try to find whatever you disabled.

I'd try system restore , but then that's my solution for everything ;)

lol fred. no the program was called autoruns

'control panel' - 'network connections', right click your connection type, 'properties' and there should be an option at the bottom "show icon in notification area when connected", check that and the icon should be in your taskbar

For me when XCleaner free (pos imo) did the same. I just did a sys restore.

dont know if this is any use but its from the text file and its the entry that deals with the icon:


HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\
....
+ SysTray -> C:\WINDOWS\system32\stobject.dll

how do i add that 2 the registry? i tried searching 4 ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad and then under the name i wrote SysTray and in data C:\WINDOWS\system32\stobject.dll
is that right?

dont know what good the save file will do, its just a txt with the reg entries :huh:

do you have stobject.dll in C:\WINDOWS\system32\ ?

well this is all the save file say's:

and when i use the 'jump to' regedit this is the value for stobject.dll - {35CEC8A3-2BE6-11D2-8773-92E220524153} - any good ? :huh:

If you have the actual text from the file or if has been posted then copy and paste it into notepad and save it as a .reg file, double click it and windows should prompt you to add it to the registry.

Not sure but................................. :1eye:

Question to you daniboy: Can you still connect to the internet? If yes then why cant you download the file yourself...

Just because you dont have an icon doesnt mean ur not connected.
So go ahead and download yourself what is the problem with that?

The only reply to that will be, $mart a$$ then why did you blew it up in the program. go figure out yourself then!

lol i wasnt trying to be rude or anything and i have the program its jus that i deleted a reg entry with the program by accident and i cant get it back

How about reinstalling that program and going to that autorun screen and un-selecting things that are deleted at startup. There must be a default as well.

Let me know if you cant download. I'll email it to you then. :)
