Just Found Gendel32.exe ?

Hi,

Just Noticed a file called GENDEL32.EXE in my C:Drive!!!
Does anyone know what it is?
Or how it got there?

I note it has been there since June 2003!!! (blimey I must be going blind)
I have run and have up-to-date Norton System works/ Internet Security
and also run up-to-date Spysweeper!
And neither of these programs can recognise it as a Virus/ Spyware??

What should I do with it?
I've Googled it but couldn't find much.

I dont have that file so its not windows related... (winXp)

Thanks......... but that thread never really got to the point of what it was?
or what should i do with it?

you can try to disable it from the startup list and maybe you can notice any change of a program that was not loaded correctly..

it doesnt seem to be a virus, so its not a big deal if it stays there I think..

Run Spybot S&D and see if it picks it up.

No doubt, Google is your friend.

I did further reading and it seems to be a part of some game apps as well as others web apps too. Not sure if it's truly undesirable or not but probably does qualify as malware.

Saving a copy, removing it, if no negative results, leave as is. If not, put it back.
