After the 40 day trial, does it force you to register and pay or can I keep using it for free with no harm?

Get a "crack" Here (http://www.rarlab.com/registration.htm). That will solve your "problem".

I notice that a few weeks ago when I kept getting the prompt but yet it continued to extract my files.
So I suppose so.

Yep mate will last for ever ,bu y have a few niggle when 2 sec to aply a key.Plus you may use the right click options sometimes. :)

mine tells me to register, but it still works.
