I need some help to find a solution. Say I have two computers, both connected to a cable modem, one using the USB port the other using the regular cable port. What would be the best way to transfer a large file between the two (fastest). Please dont say go buy a network adapter, I am too cheap to do that.
Thanks for the help.

try an ftp program Like usendit.com, it holds up to a 1gig file for 7 days
Then a Parallel port? If you want to make a hardware contact.
(Using network adapter was certainly the fastest...although msn messenger makes a direct connection as well)
Or if you cant then any of the things mentioned above.

:frusty: It's yousendit.com, and it has as much to do with FTP as the Pope does with black masses.

i still use it, when i get a comp that dont have ethernet , i just get the old laplink cable out and transfer by parellel port
Another alternative is Detto IntelliMover.

Thanks for all the ideas. The prob is that I dont have a cd burner on this one with the large files, and the other computer has the burner but I can only have a limited time with the new computer (I am cheap by the way).
