Warnings About Using Illegal Copies Of Software

Downloaded a full version of Cyberscrub and when i was checking what version it was etc i noticed the comment about it being an offence to use an illegal copy and it being punishable by law etc. My question is who knows if your copy is illegal after you download something like this, do the company monitor use or something?
