I fucking doubt it. And if they did I would be super pissed because I paid $500 for mine.

I wouldn't trust that site at all with any money - i've had a look around and they can't even write/spell properly.

Can you only get 8 hours playback from 40 GB

That's 5 GB per hour

40 GB is about the same as 10 DVD's. I would expect to store between 400 and 500 albums of MP3 on that amount of space. About 250 hours of music.

What does the iPod store, is it CD Audio files or what ?

J'Pol-

I got the Dell 20G; about 2600 songs at the moment @ 192K minimum (many are higher) and I've used up about 14.7G.

I've gone over 25 hrs on a charge, and still haven't seen the "lo bat" icon.

This thing is phenomenal.

All of these MP3 players are estimated to hold roughly 5000 songs @ 4min. avg length, @128K rate, per 20G capacity.

The IPod has battery charge issues; I have a friend who has never gotten 8hrs continuous use without a charge-like I said, I've gotten 25 without a warning.

I've got ALL the goodies that go with it, plus a really neat file management proggy called Dudebox, for a bit less than $400. ;)

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that price includes two sets (extra) of Sennheisers: 1 set of HD497s and also a set of MX500 buds-good stuff.

Oh they're talking about battery life, that makes sense.

The site is a con btw. When enough people have paid then the item is sent out to the person at the top

Take the £200, when 5 people pay £50, then the top person gets £200 (they keep £50).

The when another 5 people pay the next person gets £200. However there are now 8 people in the queue, the first person must wait for another 5, but now there are 12 people in the queue.

So 15 people have paid in £750, they have paid out £600 (with £150 profit). There are still 12 people waiting for another 5 to pay, before 1 of them gets £200. Guess what, it's now 16 in the queue.

It works in a similar way for the goods.

Yoiks! :o

Actually, yes, that's a pretty easy spot, but I suppose an IPod is something to get excited about.

I'd always wanted one, but couldn't afford it. ;)

Odd, that these things never fail to hook somebody, eh?

Such knowledge resists proper propagation.

I am given to understand that the iPod is to be avoided. Apparently the internal battery has to be replaced semi-regularly.

However it is a sealed unit and can only be done by the manufacturer. The process costs not a lot less than buying a new one.

I have not checked this out and it could be bunkum.

The chap you have seems like a far better option. Even if it only holds around 250 albums at CD quality bitrate. ;)

"If it really looks like a Good Deal, it is a Scam by Default."
Thats what i think about these kind of ads.

About players. I got a mate who (we all got these gizmo-buddys, eh?) got him self a
Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N710 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008AF65/ref=ase_ciaouk-21/202-8945579-1931838) minidiscplayer, he was particularly happy about the "import-from-PC-via-USB" option and Software for mp3's,
allthought i think iPods are very "sexy" indeed, I'd go for the minidisc.

I've got a similar MiniDisc player and I'd go for an iPod instead :)

The site is obviously a scam though

It's spelt "cheque" here in the UK, but "check" in the USA. They both mean the same thing though. ;)
