Does it still make sense to post hashes in the musicroom, since a lot of people look into soulseek now?

What does everybody think?

I'll continue to post hashes here. Somebody has to keep the network pumping!--

Yo Benno...IMO i dont see the point of posting hash's really anymore as we have soulseek now and just share directly. One to one sharers sharing real genuine music, downloading at gr8 speeds too.So stock up with music at soulseek!!
@ jibbler i think that over 4 million users are more then capable of keeping the network pumping

I don't use SoulSeek too. I don't like it.
:D Sorry, FC! :D

 I mean, how can you guys like something that gives download privileges to the ones that donate more money?
 I thought file-sharing was supposed to be free and democratic!
How can you criticize Kazaa's Participation Level when SoulSeek has a worse one, that rewards people that donate more money!
Plus, it doesn't support multi-source downloading and it relies on a central server that only works whenever it feels like. <_<

Well i have to say it seems pretty stable..
The fact is that in the room we use payed for is useless, unless your member of this board...
Otherwise you aren't allowed to download. FC checks all.....
It seems to work nice though and why you need multiple download sources for we talking music mp3's....

Really if you enjoy music get your ass in there.. B)

I just don't like supporting P2P software that was made by a guy that wants to profit from it... <_<

:D Besides, you can't get porn with SoulSeek... :P

BTW, can't you see the resemblance between SoulSeek and IRC?
SoulSeek just has a more user-friendly interface than IRC, but it lacks a lot of IRC features. ;)

I have no interest in using Soulseek. If I was interested, I'd probably post on their board about it.--

I dont think he made it to profit from it. But because soulseek needs a server he has maintance costs. He asked for donations without anything earlier but because almost nobody donated he decided to give a bit a reward. :)

And theoretical you can download everything with soulseek too. FC just dont allow it. :P

yeah, but there's nothing to stop you running Kazaa for your porn, and SS for your music at the same time.

Usually I have Kazaa, Emule and SS running...I limit my upload Bandwidth on Emule and Kazaa, to leave plenty for the guys at SS, and I leave only a couple of things DL in Kazaa and Emule, to leave me plenty of SS dl bandwidth. Simple

Just going to make a post about people wondering about the Money issue with SoulSeek.

Yes SoulSeek ask for money...but so do we?Paul has a website to run and a forum. They have a server to run and artists to help.

Soulseek Records (http://www.soulseekrecords.com/)
_____________________________________________________________________________________

People wonder why I promote SoulSeek around here,I do it because it is the best program in my opinion to get Music which is what I am into.If we find another program that is better I am sure we would go that way...but for now we are there. We are not Kazaa.....we are a file sharing community.Maybe it did not start out that way but it has lead to that.Other Related Programs Besides Kazaa (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=SF&f=40)

We all have that dream....or at least most of us here do.Of starting our own Network...it will not happen anytime soon.Where it has speeds of Kazaa/Fasttrack...album availability of SoulSeek and many other features of other programs/networks.To start something from the beginning and watch it grow would be an amazing thing....just like we have seen around here. :)

It's not the same, FC. If you donate money to Paul or VB you won't get any special rewards for that. You won't get to be a Mod or an Admin, you'll just get a big thanks. People donate money to K-Lite because they like it, not because they want something from it.
However most people donate money to SoulSeek because they want the download privileges and not because they like the software so much. Of course there always a few who do that because they like SoulSeek, but they're just a few. ;)

Even though most of the members use other P2P software than K-Lite and they discuss about them, it doesn't mean the forum is about all the other software. ;)
If you look in the development section you'll see that it only focus on K-Lite and not other P2P programs. The problems section is related to K-Lite only, and not other P2P software. ;)

 If this is a general P2P software forum, should I start posting ed2k links?

That is possible FC, but it's just too damn hard to do. :(
You're talking about creating a whole new decentralized Network similar to FastTrack or Gnutella and then develop a software that would run on that network.
Just the thought of that makes my brain hurt, but who knows...
Perhaps someone will come along and start that project... ;)
It would be great if that happened! B)

;) If you have something against us useing Soulseek talk to the MODs who are useing it to download stuff off me.If Paul and them don't what us talking about it or useing it they would'nt of alowed that sticky.Request a Poll to see what others think.Or you could come get some Music off us instead of waiting for that hash file to get a connection.

And another thing.....this is called MusicWorld. It is about Music....not Kazaa.

Chill out, I don't have anything against you guys using SoulSeek.
You're free to do whatever you want on this board, if the Mods and Admins are OK with it .
This board isn't mine, so my opinion on this doesn't mean jack sh!t. ;)
And that's just what it is, my opinion. I wasn't speaking for any of this board's members, just for myself. ;)

Thanks to FuNkY and his help, I've been using SoulSeek, as well as the hashes. . The hashes have worked a few times for me, but I am enjoying the success I've experienced on SoulSeek as well.
