Ebay Hardware Selling Question?

I placed some memory on ebay and it sold for just above the resevre price.

I have now found out I can still use this memory and it is not wise for me to sell.

Can you back out? What happens if I dont accept payment and tell the buys I dont want to sell.

He will give me back feedback I am sure.. but i don't really care since this is the first time I have used ebay and can always create a new account i guess.

Or is it more serious than that?

Ethically, I would say you have to sell it.
You offered it, he bought it.
There's nothing to stop you from withdrawing, except maybe your own conscience......
But why ask us?
You seem to have made up your mind already.
I must say I would be reluctant to do business with you in real life though..... <_<

I was going to sell it to him if he insisted on it, but I asked him if he would let me back out.
I explained that I my circumstances have changed and I would have to go right out and buy the same memory I was selling him at a much higher price.

He understood, I denied the paypal transaction, and we went our separate ways.

yeh... you can ask nicely if the other person will let you out of the sale, but if they want to finish the deal you don&#39;t really have a "right" to cancel it.

Sellers can back out, if they are not satisfied with the results.

Sellers cannot back out just cuz they arent happy about the transaction.

Its a binding agreement both ways once a bid is placed, and that bid meets, or surpases the reserve if there is one.

Supernatural, just cuz you dont like the price of the item you sold, your shit out of luck. And if that were the case, i would have had many sellers back out, as I have managed to get plenty of steals on ebay for far far below market price/value
