I seen your desktop before. It looks the same everytime. A car you can&#39;t afford as the wallpaper and a theme you could have done better with had you shopped around. :)

You have the most cluttered system tray I have ever seen. You really want to think about whether you need all of that loaded in memory, it can&#39;t be doing your speeds any good.

There appear to be 4 network connections. 3 of which are not working.

Seriously, you want to have a look at the number of things which are opening automatically and running in the background. If you don&#39;t actually need them to be there then tell them not to open until you want them.

look it up on yahoo,im not that good with computers but i learned real fast how to do it,you have to delete some stuff from the regestry.

[Nogimics]

Winamp: Options > preferences > File Types > Uncheck Enable Winamp agent.

MSN: Tools > Options > General > uncheck Automatically run Messenger at startup.

Realplayer: Don&#39;t use it but I image it would be something along the lines of Option or preferences and there will be a way to uncheck startup media center at boot up. (Or just install the piece of crap :D)

Connections: Goto network connections and delete the ones you don&#39;t use (Be careful. Do not delete them unless you know you don&#39;t need them)

Alternatively double right click them goto properties and uncheck Show icon in notification area.

Printer well you could of been printing at the time but if you were not im sure there will be an option to get it out of your system tray.

That&#39;s as many as I recognise but with the remaining im sure you will find an option to not get them to load up at system startup. MSCONFIG can help and you can also hide the icons like Norton, volume control etc using customise notifications option by right clicking the toolbar.

ok mate well it depends how much you want to do. there are a stack of programs out there that allow you to do all sorts of stuff.

I use stylexp this allows you to install full themes, you can d&#39;ld off the web

sysmetrix that allows you to have a metering tool on your desktop e.g clock, disk space etc

cursor xp. allows you to do all kinds of things with your cursor

If you have a look at my desktp on the page before this you will see what I mean, there are all kinds of different look meters too

good sites are (well I use)

wincustonise.com...everything you will need, fantastic wallpapers

www.themexp.org style xp&#39;s homepage.

I am quite happy to give you a hand getting used to the tools etc if you want.
Other people use windowblinds and desktopx etc but I haven&#39;t tried them....yet :rolleyes:

Cheers ZC, its from digitalblasphemy.com, they have loads of really good ones.

Boot skin is good but I tend to get a rainbow couloured flicker just as it finishes booting :unsure:

Do you use anything like tuneup utilities? Lol, yeah you said you used tweakxp. Esxcuse me I a not fully with it :blink:

dan nope I don&#39;t have tweak xp (I don&#39;t think :unsure: ), I&#39;ve actually got that wallpaper somewhere along with a couple of hundred others :rolleyes:

I have only just installed bootskin, but haven&#39;t booted my machine yet :frusty: , I&#39;ll let you know how it goes :)

I have never heard of tuneup utilities, I think many of these sort of programs do the same kinda thing. You could go mad but too much stuff get&#39;s in the road after a while, I did manage to get rid of all my desktop icons though :)

TuneUp Utilities 2004 (http://download.com.com/3000-2086-10280149.html?tag=lst-0-1) its a pretty good programme, I have come across another that is this easy and with as many options.

Linux is a [b]multitasking o.s.. I can run multiple window managers simultaneously on one x server as long as I use a different display.

File > Options > Virtual Drives > Number Of Virtual Drives http://www.sparsely.net/weather/thumbsup.gif

if you look at the top of my desktop shot then that is it, basically it is a desktop display that allows you to control your winamp or whatever, recylce bin, e-mail, check your temp, space all sorts of stuff a monitoring tool if you like , there are a stack of different skins, depending upon which one you choose decides how much funtionality you habve but they are fairly straightforward to amend, let me know when/if you need help?

That theme is like so yesterday. I am an Enlightenment junkie. It&#39;s my prefered Window manager.

Fluxbox is ok but it has nothing on E.
