This is gettiong ridiculous. So much free stuff is becoming pay stuff. SpywareBlaster now requires a $10 a year payment if you want autoupdate. I cna update myself, but that would be cnveinient. Anyone know if a key(gen) exists for it? I'd use keygen out of spite for them trying to make money off this thing. Be happy with the donations...

Why don"t you make your own program then...that way you could give it away free to millions of people...for Christ sake...do know how much it costs to develop and distribute a program, SpywareBlaster is one of the most used freeware utilities..do you actually think that the donations cover it...all their asking is to cover the automatic updates...if you don"t like that idea then a simple solution is don"t use it...most people prefer to manuel update anyway as to have control of what is downloaded onto their systems...give me a break...the only reason you want a keygen is to spite them..the truth is your just a cheap shit,or you wouldn"t have even posted the subject :devil:

Actually I meant downloading cracked/seperate updates or something like that. I heard you can do stuff like that for Norton, so I figured it'd be the same thing here. I had only read part of an article saying that they were charging for it (didn't read very deep, just saw charging and SpywareBlaster), did not actually DL it and see for myself. I got it now, and see it has the same update feature it had before. Please excuse how quickly and hastily I jumped to the conclusions of my first post, this is very out of character for myself. I just got a little pissed when I saw the article.

Okay, I apologize, But those weren't excuses. I misinterpreted the article. From now on I will read things more thouroughly. I just donated $5 to JavaCool through PayPal at their donate page (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblasterdonate.html). Anyone know why there hasn't been any updates for SpywareGuard in about a month or so?

Edit: Actually, it says my definitions (1/22/04) are up to date. 3 months seems like a bit old..

Because it really is a shame how so many freewares are getting greedy and becoming payware. Best example: DeadAIM. Update once every 6 months or so, no real tech support, very rude forum, and much better free software available (AIMutation, middle_man). Not to mention the very little effort involved in making it better. And it annoys me how there are so many crap spyware scanners that you have to pay for. Luckily this was not the case, and once again I apologize for my misinterpretation of the AutoUpdate fee. SpywareBaster is great software, which is why I donated $5.

dude, it does cost ppl time at the least to develope these apps, sometimes even money...
autoupdate is just a luxury, so look at it as a luxury tax :lol:
they are offering a little extra, so asking for a little extra, no biggie
and look at any release groups included info...
they all suggest that YOU BUY THE APP IF YOU LIKE IT
just a suggestion if course, but....
without the money from sales, these companies would go belly up...
and then you would have NO software to bitch about having to pay for...

Well, as you can see from my previous post, I donated my &#036;5. It&#39;s not the first time I&#39;ve donated before, I donated to my favorite clan server. I&#39;m not even a clan member but I donate. And I have purchased some of the stuff I cracked. For example, MoH: AA. Cracked for the single player, loved it, and went out and bought it and started to love multi. Another example, I downloaded Soul Calibur for DC. I really enjoyed it, so I went out and bought Soul Calibur II for GCN. The majority of the things I crack are things which I do not use very often (i.e. and AVI to gif converter). Once again, I apologize about the original post. SpywareBlaster is very good software, and the new GUI is great. I recommend it to those who don&#39;t have it. Does anyone else have SpywareGuard? I have it, but there hasn&#39;t been new definitions for 3 months... Is this just my computer?
