Hi,

Just tried to install Norton Internet Security 2004 Pro. on my laptop but
It won't finish the installation properly!!!
It seems to install ok then it asks to reboot (to which I say yes)
Then It gets stuck on the Windows loading screen
Then I have to Load Windows on "Last known working settings" then it loads windows ok but says that NIS hasn't installed properly and I should un-install it!

Now I know this program works ok ;) cos I have it installed on my comp.
So I just can't work out why it won't work on my laptop?

Any Ideas???

Cheers!

Whats the difference with the Corporate edition to the normal Pro edition?

Corporate is known to be much better. A lot less prolems, but I would avoid norton's software completely if I were you. NIS slow down internet connections, and causes problems like this for TONS of people. It uses too many system resources on top of all that. Norton's antivirus doesn't even catch all that much.

You want internet security? Get a router, just tweak your system, and get an antivirus worth having.
NOD32 (http://www.nod32.com)
AVG (http://www.grisoft.com)

AVG has an excellent free edition (6.0), as well as a very nice full subscription version (7.0).
NOD32 is my choice for now, and is not free, but has a trial version.

But, also, if you want to see what NOD32 looks like, you can check out Error's awesome stand-alone scanner HERE (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=96763). It's only meant to clean a system, and not fully protect it.

BTW, for system tweaking, I haven't seen a program better than X-Setup (http://www.x-setup.net/)

Some other sites, if your interested.
RegSeeker (http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm) - Some tweaking, but mostly registry cleaning.
BlackViper's Site (http://www.blackviper.com/) can show you how to speed up your system without programs
XP-Antispy (http://www.xpantispy.org/) is just plain good.

Well, I don't use e-mule, but maybe Suprnova (http://www.suprnova.org/) has what you are looking for.

I'm kind of into torrents mostly.
