Newsgroups aren't something I have tampered with yet.

I'll ask me flatmate though cos he is the one that sorted out the connection :)

it isnt 100mbps, thats your ehternet cards speed.

mine is curently 128k

its cable internet from rogers, i pay 23.95 for it though (canadian). i could get 3mbps from rogers for 44.95 but my parents are too cheap

btw, my current upload is half teh download, so 56kbps, if i got the 3mbps then it would be upload of i think 256kbps...

You do understand that for anything to download at 3Mbit, you'd only need a download rate of 384 kilobytes per sec?

I can't see your picture. What I was saying was that I thought there was something wrong with your units. If you meant to say 4000/25 kilobits per second then that would mean that your upload was only 3.125 kilobytes per second (which is less than 56k). If you meant to say 4000/25 kilobytes per second, then your download would be getting close to T3.

What I think you meant to say was 4095/256 (or something similar)

edit: evidently, after seeing the picture, I was right. You misquoted your upload.
