which is easy to use by an old computer moron?

well for one.....you could maybe tell ppl
who may not be familiar with system mechanic what exactly you want
save em the trouble of having to search ;)
heres what i found on system mechanic:

now personally, i dont really buy into these "all in one" apps
for AV, i use norton
for disk maintenance,(defragging and such), diskeeper pro is reputed as very good
(although windows does have a disc defragment tool)
for popups, admuncher
for the reg, either jv16 powertools or there are a lots of good free reg cleaners
(regseeker is very good and free)
for spyware, you cant get any better than spybot + spywareblaster
for a firewall, again, none of these "all in ones" stand up to sygate or zonealarm
file recovery, try googling for "restoration" good and free
or you can hunt down a copy of easy recovery pro
