The other day I just suddenly started to get pop-ups and like 50 thousand processes running that I didn't start. The only thing I can figure is progs that I installed but the only ones I have put in is middle_man for aim. I have looked through all of my temp files and everything and I've ran ad aware and spybot but they still keep coming back      . And I ran a trojan scanner and it found a file but I deleted it but I don't know what to do?

Windows XP:
go to start>setting>control panel>performance and maintainance>administrative tools>services>look for MESSENGER>right-clik "properities", DISABLE.
That might help B)

Edit---Zedaax They are processes I have never saw before. They are run with my user name to so I can close any of them but when I close one another one opens.

Try checking again your computer with a virus scanner and Spybot-S&D (http://security.kolla.de/) and make sure you have updated everything. (Spybot-S&D, virus scanner, etc)

theyre all spyware...what programs do you have isntalled on your computer? and does anybody else other than you use your computer, who may be going to websites that have spyware and clicking accept on all the security warnings?

Okay, you need a virus scanner and spyware ridding software that can handle crap like this. I've tried any spyware remover worth trying and I've known SpySweeper (http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/index.php) to be the best. A lot of people like Ad-aware and Spybot and they work great, but Spy Sweeper isn't so targeted by crapware.

NOD32 stand-aloe scanner (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=96763) and McAfee AVERT Stinger (http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/) may help to clean the system without installing a full anti-virus. AVG (http://www.grisoft.com/) is an excellent anti-virus, as well as NOD32 (http://www.nod32.com).

Black Viper's Site really helps with services. But, I always hear people having trouble with pop-ups, viruses, spyware, and other crap so I made something to help. Supertrick XG (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=107782) I've been putting it in a lot of my posts lately.

I figured it was spyware....Spybot killed them all last night and I'm the only one who uses this computer and I don't click on and security warnings...You really don't want my whole list of installed progs do you...It had to have been packaged with something else.

I found out where these bastard exe's are hiding...In my system32 folder and I've never seen them before so I don't know if I should delete them or not but I can't delete them because I don't even see them

since those files might still be in use, get yourself hijack this and post your log in the many help forums around.

Don't try fixing yourself as you can severely cripple your system.

a few sites that come to mind is computer cops, spywareinfo, tomcoyote.

good luck

I think I am just gonna re-get winxp from the school and do a fresh-install. Only $5 to get the full version of winxp pro legally so I'll go with it. I never re-did windows on this computer before.

AIM heh?

Look in your Control Panel and see if you have an icon for "Wild Tangent".
That is a little surprise gift that AIM likes to give you, too.
I'll bet that you are getting all this spyware loaded by AOL.

After getting all sorts of crap from AIM I switched to an IM program called Miranda 32.
Works with all the major networks and doesn't invite all it's friends into your computer to play.

I know it isn't Wild Tangent because I watched ad-aware and spybot kill all of that. The link the first guy gave me was dead so I couldn't use it last night and I'm at school right now so I will try it when I go home tonight. Thanks.

Edit - I forgot to say that I used process protector and I looked at the evil processes and it told me their names they run by but it also told me the file it originates from and every single one is Kern32 in my System32 file.
