I really hope that this turns out to be an altered photo. First off there is already enough tension there and this surely won't do anything to help, and secondly this soldier is from my home state and I think that someone from Louisiana would have a little more sense than that. I know that cajuns are pretty damn crazy, but not stupid.

Why would a marine post this anyway?
If it's real it was coerced.
But it's not real because an Arab is not going to say "knocked up".

I'm pretty sure the soldier would have written it and given it to the boy. Though, the writing is pretty good for an American soldier

This photo issue would seem to fit well with the rhetoric which states that we are in the midst of another Viet Nam.

Soon the U.S. and Iraq will be inundated with illegitimate Iraqi/American children, international lawyers will seek child-support for them, soldiers will be disappearing in Iraq so as to assimilate and start families, we'll have a huge MIA-in-Iraq movement, etc.

Ah, the memories.... <_<

If this chap is a US Marine how long is it going to take for them to find out who he is.

Does he look like a US Marine to you, I'm not convinced.

That's nothing - two Kosovans have just successfully sued the British government because a platoon of British soldiers returned fire on them when they were shot at  True. They were awarded over £100,000 each ~(about $180,000).

A good incentive for implimenting a shoot to kill policy, I say :D

If genuine, then presumably it was a squaddie joke done for the mess hall that has somehow got out into the wider arena. Soldiers tend to have a slightly dark (warped) sense of humour.

As I said, if genuine, he will be peeling a lot of potatoes for a week or two.

Could be a bit rougher than K.P.; I imagine the military courts would have a field day adjudicating "internet pranks".

If such is the case, I think this would be dealt with rather severely. ;)

Hello!

Since analyzing photos on the web is one of my hobbys I took the challenge and analyzed this one. It appears to me that the boys and the soldier where really there and took that picture. What has been altered is the text on the card board. What is originally said is unknown. Ridiculus that the marine did not realise taht and started an investigation.

It really shows how paranoid the US government have become!

Indeed, and will no doubt be joined by the clown who thought a live shell would be a good momento and injured several friends on the boat home when it blew up.

Explosive safety courses are clearly not what they used to be.

It would also be true that the variety of possible "explosions" has broadened considerably. :D
