i have started to d/l that link you posted, but i dont think explained myself properly. when i put U2 in the search field an error message pops up saying there has to be a minimum of 2 characters in the beginning of the word, so how do i bypass that

Use WinMX

The only way you can do it is by also using the song or album name as well as ON has a 3 or 4 string (letter) search limit.

So searching for U2 - Beautiful Day would work.

If you are after singles try "[mp3] u2" however this will limit your search. Similarly for album wrap try "(albw) u2".

But for music try other p2p apps like soulseek or WinMX.
